Myroslav Skoryk is nothing but a legend and a very literal hero of Ukraine, having been named the People's Artist of Ukraine and the Hero of Ukraine through governmental awards. This chart quotes one of his most famous pieces; his Melody, composed for the film "The High Pass", which has become so ubiquitous throughout Ukraine that many - including a past self of the charter here - believe that this piece was native folk music, composed generations past. Indeed the piece - written in A minor - is at once melancholic and wistful, yet defiant and optimistic, but does not succumb to the "minor is sad" archetype.

So far I am divorced mercifully to true and actual suffering. With this token - however trite and trivial and callous - I pray, to no gods nor goddesses, no spirits past nor monarchs present, but should my will be greater than dust in the wind, I do so solemnly pray for peace, for souls past, present, and future.
