Nightmare Contagion

So uhhh, I'm back to this chart. If any of you thought that you've seen this charted by me before, you'd be correct. However, it was extremely poorly rated, and I can see why.

One of the reasons it was so low rated was because it was completely out of sync, since I didn't calibrate the song before charting it. At the time I didn't really know you had to calibrate your charts outside of the chart creator, so I just used a feature in Cylheim which allows you to change your music offset. What I didn't know is that this didn't carry over to Cytoid, apparently it's just made for the charter and not the players. I'm not really sure why it's a thing, but I'm sure there's a reason I'm unaware of. Anyway, if you play the other chart (please don't), then you'll notice that if you change the offset to +0.35s that it will be semi-in-sync. This issue has been fixed for this chart.

Another reason it was hated so much was because I broke a very elementary rule of charting... do not chart on page 0. But at the time I didn't know this aaaand went ahead and did it. So, when you play the old version of the chart, you get jumpscared when you start the chart. That has been changed in this chart too.

I've also made some minor improvements to this chart (eg; less overlaps) but it is still basically the same chart, I don't believe I've changed any notes dramatically, so that's cool, I guess.

Oh also, the chart difficulty has been raised since I did change most (if not all) of the drags to cdrags, and, in my opinion, this pushes it to a difficulty of at least 11 rather than 10.

Now, you may be wondering, "Why did you not just change the chart in the original one?", well, to be honest, I want it to stay there since it was my second chart and I would like to see how I started once I get at least half-decent at chart-making. Also, let's be honest, a chart with 1.80 star rating is not gonna be played again, no matter how amazing the new chart is. Imagine you are looking for a chart to play and you somehow stumble across a chart that was made half a year ago (damn that was quite a while ago) and it's rated 1.80 stars, chances are, you won't play it, and you probably won't even realise that the chart has been remade to be better.

The original Nightmare Contagion chart in all fairness wasn't that bad (by no means was it good), in terms of how the notes were placed (minus a few handblocks), it was just extremely out of sync and jumpscares you.

Huh, I didn't know what contagion meant, turns out Covid was one, I guess it makes sense, contagious and all that. Now I feel dumb I didn't know what it meant...
