Today was a good day. I've been writing about Alice a lot lately but she is just very special in a lot of ways. She actually talked a bit more as of lately and today it really showed. I think she is starting to really have fun here. She's playing with the other children and is smiling more than usual. Small sentences, or words like: „Hello“, or „Thank you“ now are becoming a bit more regular for her. I always knew she could talk but I didn't want to pressure her. Children are supposed to feel safe in this facility, so I'll give her all the time she needs to lead a normal life again. Children that end up here have such sad pasts it makes me angry at the world we live in. But especially for that reason it's important to give them some space while still showing them that a loving home is waiting for them.

Anyway... One thing that is very concerning to me, despite her situation getting better, is her nightly... should I say... activities? Before, all she would do was speak in her sleep... Repeating the same name over and over again. But recently... she started sleepwalking aswell. Just the other day, as I was about to head to bed, I saw her standing in the garden alone. She wasn't looking at me but something in front of her was glowing in an ominous blue light. I couldn't see what it was but I tried approaching her. The Moment I reached her she woke up and just said: „Sorry“. She went to bed after that. I didn't fail to notice that she must have been crying in her sleep.
