Well that's strange. The moment I return to my house I'm greeted with my assistant making the most worried expression I've ever seen her make. She told me that she found me unconscious at my desk and that she thought I had fainted from overwork. I do feel fine though. Even if I woke up at the hospital, there is nothing wrong with me as far as I can tell. In fact, I feel really great and refreshed for some reason. I really don't like doctors of any kind so I left as quickly as possible... I wonder how I forgot my coat though. Normally I never forget anything. Well Anyway; I really want to dive back into my research on the „Rift“ as I feel like I'm close to a breakthrough regarding the matter. I've searched for so many years trying to finally find an answer to all my problems, and up until now it always felt like all the research I conducted, all the countless hours of lost sleep and all the days I was getting my hands dirty in the ruins trying to cling to hope, were utterly in vain. But like I just mentioned. Up until now. With this intact artifact I found, it feels like I can finally take a step forward. It's the first time something like this happened. Never before have I seen anything even close to this. Had I not found the notes years ago... who knows where I would be today. Probably miserable and a complete wreck of a human being. Well I really don't want to think about those feelings. It's time I leave all of it behind me. She wouldn't like me in a depressed state. She...always told me to smile with her if I couldn't do it on my own... she... ... Huh? That's strange... ... Who am I talking about?
