Notes about the Rift Nr.2

So what do i know about this otherworldly thing called the „Rift“? Not much to be honest. Not much at all. And it didn't interest me all that much before I found these notes. Unfortunately I have no idea who wrote them since the only letters left from their names are „U“, „I“ and „L“. This is quite unfortunate, but the documents are pretty old, so it's nothing unusual. Well back to the topic. These notes describe this so called „Rift“ as some sort of portal if I'm not mistaken. Apparently it's part of a legend that has been a bit forgotten over the years. Supposedly reports of people have appeared, that claim to have seen or „talked“ to it. Talked to it? So that means it's a living thing? The notes also arrive at that conclusion. The next part is what really intrigues me. Apparently one of the researchers had an encounter with this... „Rift“. The visions described here are written down with a lot of detail. A girl crying out in pain, a different little girl with blonde hair hunched over the corpse of her mother, A huge mass of bodies frozen in time, a terrible war, An evil figure with two horns sitting on a throne and an red glowing orb. Just to give a brief summary.

According to the author, all these visions don't seem to have anything particular in common. Apparently the only thing that came true, was that they found the object glowing in red light which was described on the notes. So what makes all of this so interesting? Well apparently this „Rift“ thing is some sort of... god in a way. It's hard to explain really. Nobody seems to really know what it is but the legend apparently states that whoever can access the Rift, will be granted the power of the future and the past. No, even more than that. The power over life and death itself. Even bringing the dead back to life might be a possibility. This left me speechless. It can't be. It's impossible! Haven't we been tought the rules that apply to our lives? No matter if life, death, future, past or gravity. These laws of nature can't be altered. They're absolute are they not?
