If you’re of a certain generation the song title alone is probably enough for you to understand the song even if you don’t speak Japanese. If you’re still struggling – let’s set the scene: You’re sitting at home minding your own business and your boyfriend gets up and walks out of the room leaving his cellphone behind. While he’s away his phone buzzes. You absent-mindedly check his phone screen. It’s a dating app push notification saying “You’ve got a great new match!”. Your first thought is “Why?”. Why is he getting a dating app notification? Why is he on a dating app!? Anger wells up inside you. “Why why why” is all you can think. Your boyfriend comes back into the room – you just start yelling “WHY” at him showing him the message on his cellphone. His only reply is “I don’t know why…” You snap. You just start attacking him with random household items. He’s just yelling “Why!? Why!? What’s UP?” as you pummel him with pots and pans. This situation turns scary and you start landing hits. He continues to play the fool…saying “I don’t know why” dating app notifications are popping up on my phone. And yet – more notifications pop up “You’ve got a great new match!”. END SCENE
