He downs his glass of scotch as if it were a shot, and he - without knowing what manner of idiocy he had committed unto himself - asks me to pour him another. I oblige, but I pour him another unsolicited but entirely necessary drink - still water.
“This world is crazy. Christmas was yesterday, why are they still milking this damn holiday?”
Unsurprisingly, the answer is (always) money. But this man is broken already, and I refuse to break his heart further.
